Sheriff's Highway Veterinary Hospital is proud to be a member of the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. This means you can be confident in our commitment to the highest standards of care at all times. Established since 1948, our practice benefits from the extensive veterinary experience of its team.

Both our branch at Whickham and the main Hospital in Gateshead aim to provide all required routine veterinary services. Both are equipped with full operating facilities, and the Hospital has additional equipment which may sometimes be transferred temporarily to a branch for a short time. In addition, the Hospital provides facilities for an overnight stay, if any patients require skilled supervision. Rest assured there are staff present within the Hospital at all times.

Sometimes a patient requires more than that available in routine practice. Such cases will occasionally be sent outside the practice, as we maintain links with most of the six veterinary schools, as well as many of the referral practices both locally and nationwide. More often, such cases will initially be sent to another vet within the practice.
