In common with all other UK veterinary practices,
we are unable to publish lists of prices for products
and services. The Royal College of Veterinary
Surgeons, the profession's governing body, states
that it is unethical to do so. While this may
initially seem to be unreasonable, there are good
reasons for this:
Unlike in many other professions, there is no
clear definition of exactly what is meant when
a particular procedure is named. Even for such
a routine task as the vaccination of a puppy there
are many variables, such as the nature and timing
of the vaccines, or the inclusion of additional
services, such as dietary or general health advice.
It is generally regarded as best practice to
discuss your needs over the telephone prior to
attending a surgery, and this would be a good
time to find out an approximate cost for any proposed
work.
Here at the Sheriff's Highway Veterinary Hospital,
our aim is to provide the best possible service
at a reasonable cost. This policy means that we
are by no means the cheapest, but we would hope
that our clients realise just what they are paying
for - the best service that we can provide!
If you have any query about costs of routine work,
or would like an estimate for any surgical procedure,
please telephone 0191 487 1681 or 0191 487 7319
during office hours.
